Startup - the trainingprogram that unveils your business idea
Startup is a practical trainingprogram for the individual with an idea for a potential export-oriented company. Here, as a researcher, innovator, or entrepreneur, you receive an excellent foundation in preparation for founding a company. You should have a technological product idea whose tenability for export you want to verify.
The program consists of ten workshops comprising critical areas in business: business models, sales strategies, admissions barriers, internationalization, finance alternatives, leadership etc. Theory is rotated with practice and experienced entrepreneurs and experts inspire and motivate.
Between meetings some assignments but also individual coaching will be given. Developing your own business plan follows as a red thread throughout the program giving you the knowledge necessary to decide whether or not to go for it. At the end of the program you will have the opportunity to present your business plan before an exclusive network whose skills you may draw upon in the future. The best project will be rewarded with 50 000 SEK. The program is offered free of charge − all you invest is your time and enthusiasm.
Scope
The program consists of about ten workshops, each three to four hours long. The program runs for three months. The meetings are held at STING?s offices and at KTH's Campus Valhallavägen. If after completing the program you wish to continue with you idea, you may apply to STING?s pre-incubator Business Lab.
Target Group
Both individuals and teams can apply. The program is primarily intended for people who are currently:
Active/previously active in business
Tied to a research institute Students or researchers at universities
The idea should highly technological and be "knowledge intensive". You should also want to found a company around your idea.
The optimal Startup project consists of 2-3 persons, where both men and women are included in the team.
Cost
The program is offered free of charge. You contribute with your time and your burning enthusiasm. At the start of the program each project pay a deposit of 500 SEK returned upon the complettion of the program on the condition that you have been present at the meetings and completed all the tasks.
Discretion
At the start of the program all participants and organizers will sign a privacy agreement. No information about any business idea, technology, or participant?s name will be spread outside of the program without your express approval.
