Swedish innovations sought after in Hong Kong
2011-10-24 A new climate system for buildings and a new cheaper method of producing solar cells are two of the six Swedish innovations that will be presented tomorrow to 50 investors and industry people in Hong Kong."The interest in Swedish environmental expertise is very high. We are accelerating our STING companies to expand internationally by arranging an industry and investor seminar in Hong Kong at which six exciting companies will present technical solutions that are highly sought after both in Hong Kong as well as in mainland China. STING's contribution is to create bridges for the next generation of successful Swedish export companies, and in the cleantech field we have particularly good opportunities," says Magnus Rehn, business coach in cleantech at STING (Stockholm Innovation & Growth).
Six selected environmental technology companies in the STING sphere will take part in the event, Stockholm Innovation Showcase, organized in collaboration with the City of Stockholm, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks, with the goal to create business opportunities that will benefit the comapnies in their continued international expansion.
One of the companies that will present in Hong Kong is Zebor Technology, which has developed the fastest, most cost-effective and most scalable platform for embedded systems based on the products ZDOS and ZBIOS.
"This is a fantastic opportunity to make contacts with industrial and financial partners in China, especially since our primary market focus is Hong Kong and Taiwan. We will present our platform, which is developed in collaboration with Intel, and that faster and with up to seven times less energy can start up and run industrial PCs," says Lars Österberg, CEO of Zebor Technology.
The companies will make their pitches at the Hong Kong Science Park in the morning where Jörgen Halldin, Consul-General in Hong Kong and Macau, will be present. In the afternoon there is an opportunity for individual meetings, and the evening reception at The Hong Kong Club, in cooperation with the Swedish Chamber of Commerce, creates additional opportunities for startup companies to establish contacts with industry people from the local market.
