At last politicians seem out of all the camps started to become interested in how to create more growth from innovation. IVA project "Innovation for Growth" seems to have had a good effect, and both blocks have now come up with fairly specific proposals, which all appear in the right direction. I just hope it eventually dare to carry out a structural rationalization of the State aid area.
Today it's up to four different departments involved in this matter and they are rarely coordinated. The latest example of how crazy it can get is when the Ministry of Education launched the innovation office proposal without coordination with the business incubator initiative through the Department of Innovation Bridge.
I think the most important change would be to create a much stronger policy coordination within the ministries concerned. Then I think we could get more money and support to all our innovators and entrepreneurs, without adding any more new money at all. Then Sweden's Return On Innovation to increase even more! We shall see in Almedalen on Gotland in July on one of the blocks will suggest that Sweden should have a Minister of Innovation.
