Among other things, a panel discussion on globalization was held, by CEO and founder of STING, Pär Hedberg, on the theme "How can Swedish Startups get out quickly in an international market?
Innovationabron took the opportunity in advance to ask some key questions to Pär Hedberg:
Why is so important to the internationalization of Swedish start-ups?
- One of the biggest challenges that start-up companies have is how to internationalize their operations, "says Pär Hedberg. The challenge is also greater for Swedish companies than many of their foreign competitors, because Sweden is such a small domestic market, continues Pär. The Swedish start-up companies need to start selling at home, but it means that they grow too slowly and could either be bought or die of sickness. It is therefore extremely important that companies are able to compensate for this rapid and successful on an international market. The panel discussion, we will discuss is what we in Sweden have to do to handle this challenge better.
Who will participate in panel debate?
- We have an exciting mix of people with experience from the internationalization of small companies, large companies, and support organizations. It is Elzouki Pierre, founder of Scalado, Jonas Nilsson, CEO of SP Devices, Claes de Neergaard, CEO of Industrial Development Fund, Per-Erik Sandlund gd Invest Sweden and Akbar Sedigh, including chairman of the Innovationbron and Elekta.
What you hope to get out of Almedalen?
- I have an idea of how large Swedish export firms can help start-up companies reach an international market, and hopes to have the opportunity to discuss this. It would be incredibly exciting if the big companies could act as mentors for the export of small start-ups, and give them credibility, networking and knowledge of different export markets. I would like to see the example of Swedish Enterprise and a few large global Swedish companies will be on the panel debate and contribute their ideas.
