Collaboration with STING speeds up commercialization
FOI is primarily a task-financed public authority under the Defense Department. At the core of its business activity lies research and technology development promoting defense and security. With circa 1000 employees, of which about 800 are researchers, FOI is Sweden′s largest research institute.
FOI gives customers access to leading expertise in application areas such as security policy, analyses in defense and security, assessment of various types of threats, systems for leadership and control during crisis situations, protection when handling dangerous substances, IT-security, and new sensor technologies.
FOI collaborates with STING to speed up the commercialization of the research at the institute. This collaboration is one part of FOI′s ambition to increase revenue from markets other than the defense sector and also play a more active role as an innovation motor in Sweden. Transferring the research institute′s competence and results to innovative companies and entrepreneurs, FOI supports Sweden′s future growth.
